22a. My god. I remember when the label started along with Henry Wu, Tenderlonious et al, back in 2015. The whole ethos was essentially ‘get some money, put out a record, get more money, put out more records’ and keep it within a group of close friends. In this case, this group of friends and family just happen to be extremely talented musicians to boot.

And so with the advent of the Ruby Rushton project, the cadre of musicians assemble to drop a tasty collection of jazz, soul, hip-hop, salsa, Afro-jazz, freestyle improvisations and punchy jazz-funk epics.

You can’t go out vinyl hunting and pass up a new Villalobos cut. Clearly inspired after remixing afrobeat legend Tony Allen for Dekmantel. He’s got a new minimal banger out. I’m looking forward to testing this one out.
